      maybe go with 2 20" rims welded together, with a tire on one, and the belt on the other (like a kids racing 20"bmx skinny rim). This would give you the lower ratio and still fit in the frame.

      Thanks for practical suggestion on improving ratio. The same rear sheave but with a smaller diameter rim may help as well. This setup will take me up a mild grade without pedal assist and not too much throttle. Top speed on a slight downhill or level grade is probably between 25-35 with a light rider like myself.
