fuel tank

How tough are these fuel tanks?

I don't mean the studs. I just mean the tank itself. Today I had to tighten the bolts and the thing shifted. I noticed a big spot where the paint has been scratched off and it got me thinking. Do these tanks break easy? And if so, can I find new ones?

    Rear mounted fuel tank?

I have a bike I am considering putting an engine on but there isnt really space for a traditional fuel tank posision. Ive seen some guys put tanks on the back but is there anything I need to know before doing this? Thanks!

    My petcock is useless

Whether it is on or off, fuel goes through. I can run my bike in the off position. So because of this, fuel can freely go through when the engine is off and I can't do anything about it. Will this hurt my bike or is it fine?

    Parts jamming break lines

So I see a lot of projects done on bikes with the break lines going under the top tube. Mine are on the top and when I bolt my fuel tank on, it presses on the cables and screws up my breaks and my gear shifter. Anything I can do?

    Fuel line too long?

I'm building my first bike and I may have a problem. The way my bike is shaped, there is not enough room for the fuel line to stretch out all the way. I cut it but I don't want to do it so short it will start kinking. Does it need to be straight or is it ok if it loops?I
