Sure you can, but make sure it's on the lowest charge setting possible, usually 1.5amps. If the charger has no auto shut-off, you'll need to check on it often. I recommend you do that anyway. I use a solar trickle-charger to charge my 12v 5ah bike battery, but I've used an automotive one several times.

Any faster and that battery's case will expand like waistlines on Thanksgiving because of boiling electrolyte.
 
So on my way to catch blue crab for lunch I happened opon a yard sale . I got two hoveround replacement batteries new in the box for 10 bucks.there 12v 27 ah. So electric is no longer an issue on the heavy-duty bike with those in the trunk. Tom
