    And to think that with over 100 years of motor car development we're driving no faster than in 1906; in fact we are driving incrementally slower with each passing year with ever reducing speed limits, yet government calls it progress.

    I guess the increasing capacity of the roads is considered progress by the gov't, rather than speed of travel. Leno loves his steam cars.

    Yes, you are right Wheelbender6. Govt measures progress by increasing no. of roads not the no. of cars and bikes.
