Eep. Those things were very little more than what we've built and shown on this board! Can you picture another cylinder on your happy time motor, propelling your bike to 110+, on a bunch of 2x4's laid on their edges? I don't think they had any brakes on those things either. Hats off to those guys - i get scared at 30 mph on my machine!

Yea they stopped racing when a bike flew off the track and killed 6 people in the stands.
I think it was in New York or maybe Jersey.

WOW thanks for posting that. Really great. It also gives us a much better sense for the size of the track.
