Here is some information from the service manual on timing adjustments etc.
Great information on the provided PDF, I definitely have to get a manual. Q. This May sound silly, but where is the "Points Plate"; to remove anc check points; I thought I knew where it was, but when I removed it, all I saw was a small, chrome little box, not sure if this is an electronic point system but really small, I'll try to get some pics, but again where is the point plate?

Electronic Module replaces points

Points should be on the right side of the motor behind the main casting. If I remember correctly triangular tin cover.

Appreciate all the replies and help; I'm going to attach a few pics and to be honest with the group, I feel a little silly asking this due to the fact that I've rebuilt engines, recently rebuilt a VW Bug engine, probably changed every component on a V8 or 6 that could be changed, but when it comes to this simply, little Whizzer engine, I have no idea what I'm looking at or how to troubleshoot, repair; with that apology given; allow to ask:

The pics attached:
Q. Was that the "Point Plate"

Q. What the h*(l is that little chrome plug-in?

Q. What is the opposite side of the plate, I'm looking at, is that the "coil"

Q.What is that other piece shown, has a gasket but seems like it doesn't do anything.

Ok pleading my ignorance; look forward to the replies.

Thanks

As Wrench said, you have electronic points... replaced old mechanical one.

As already mentioned, someone replaced the original points and their mounting plate with an electronic trigger. If you want to check ign timing, remove the spark plug, connect a timing light to the plug wire, and spin the motor with a drill in reverse on the flywheel bolt.

I'm getting spark, so I guess the electronic points are working; what's the other pics show?

Switch the + and - around on the electronic module
Whichever way gives the best spark Or whichever way makes the engine run better is the way ya want it
