1956 Harley "Hummer" 165 New Project

So the hummer is put aside for now while I accumulate restoration parts such as the most critical.... the wiring harness. In the meantime, I sent the dilapidated original seat to Heather's Leathers for rebuild and I got it back very quick..... I am blown away with he quality.. Yes, it is not cheap, but to have a genuine leather seat of the period (They use your original seat pan which in my case had already be repainted and the old crappy seat cousing put back on it) is amazing

That is a beautiful job! How much did it run you?

Worth every penny - Beautiful

For a solo seat depending on the material it'll probably cost between $200 - $300 (my guess)

Since it's leather, cost will probably be on the high end

UPDATE: Decided to have the engine rebuilt inside and out. Got it off the bike this week and in the box to ship to TX. Expert "Mutt" Hallam will make it look like new inside and out " 57 pound UPS package! Not your typical aluminum CG light weight. All 165 CC of weight plus transmission and magneto.

I was going to try and get it running first by obtaining the necessary new wiring harness and battery which I did... but As I get (OLDER ahhhh), time is more important than $$$, so decided to send it off for 5 weeks and get it back on the bike sooner than later, I will finish up the other rehab issues while I wait.

Had to drain the new oil I put in the case but good thing as when drained and cover removed, I had plenty of sludge to wipe out. And as you can see, the cylinder needs much work....
