found this "gem" on facebook.

looks like someone tore it half apart and gave up.
has good compression, just no spark. looks like someone took out half the points system.

going to replace it with a NOVA ii transistor type, should work then?

going to be a fun one

Definitely its going to need a lot, but the end result should be worth it!

Well, got my NOVA II ignition today, got the engine started!

It needs some carb work to get it running for longer than 3 seconds, but it runs!

Basicly the silver arrow device converts points style ignition (what we have here) to electronic ignition (modern small engines) since these guys dont make points for these engines anymore, i bought this for 13$ and converted it into a super basic electronic ignition on the cheap.

The real NOVA II ignition systems are around 40$, i bought my knock off one for 13$

Oh, well, its a friction drive bike motor kit from the 1970s. The carb is junk (pieces missing) needs a new carb, Airbox and filter, as well as some bigger gas tanks.

Ill grab a couple of pictures tommrrow
