Mainly did this for my neighbors kid, he wants to get into fab work, told him doesn't take much, harbor freight welder and practice, did miminal fit up and measuring just to show what can be done with not alot of fancy tools. Just a harbor freight grinder and a welder, metal is very forgiving

It's ok, the rest of us also subtract our waist size from our age. I'm -32, I feel good for my age.
The older you get, the wider you get, soooooo much more to subtract from the real age...lol.
When he got discouraged, had to tell him the truth, seen supposedly 25 yr maintenance welders who can't flux as well as him. Every one of my crew can break out the suitcase or the stick and lay it down, If you can't flux then you are not on my crew,, because sometimes in the field that is all we got. That helped him focus and keep trying
