So i've got an old 08 trek 6500 sg (pic related) i'm in the process of slapping an 80cc china girl on.

ran into all kinda of issues, shocker i know. Had to fabricate a mounting bracket got the front mount and use a muffler clamp to secure it because the bottom tube is massive, broke 7 spokes trying to get that POS friction drive assembly that came with the kit on. replaced a wheel, upgraded to a chain drive sprocket that bolts to the hub. Finally got the motor mounted and chain trimmed and on. My new chain tensioner just arrived and i''m gonna install that tomorrow, i've heard the ones that come with the kits have a tendency to wanna cuddle with the spokes and that's no good.

But back to the question at hand, does anyone one else run 2.3" tires on there rigs? it looks like i've got a good 1/4-1/2" clearance, but i havent ridden it yet since its still a work in progress. How much lateral movement does the chain have? and will keeping it tight reduce that? or do i not want it too tight?
