I have a 2 stroke leaf blower engine I want to put on a bike. It won't start and there is a hole near the spark plug on the front of the engine and there is a lot of gas and oil splattered around it. Is the engine dead?

Sounds KAPOOT. Leaf blowers are not the best choice for bike conversions, as they are pretty small engines, anyway. MY OPINION

If there is a hole NEAR the sparkplug...going into the cylinder...then you have a dead engine. Sounds like you're probably a bit of a small engine noob, I would suggest spending an afternoon taking the whole thing apart bit by bit and getting to know what the insides look like and how they work, since the whole thing is probably going to end up in the garbage anyway, at least you might learn a thing or two from it first :)
