2 Stroke Motor revving too high

Hi, absolute amateur looking for advice.

I have fitted a 2 stroke ATV motor to a pedal bike with a coaster brake. Every time I want to idle, the coaster brake overheats because the revs seem to be too high, even with the throttle completely closed. Also, when I apply the clutch, the revs go really high and I am worried about damaging the motor. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Please post some pics of your bike.
What kind of ATV motor?
Sounds like you have an air leak in the intake.
