Ive just finished putting a brass graphite bushing into the rod and piston on my setup and with the new dio cylinder and new head it seems to be a little short or something its bottoming the head bolts out before its totally flush with the cylinder would a second head gasket solve my issue??

Did you use 2 cylinder base gaskets like the motor comes with stock?

I can add that my motor came with a whole bunch of washers under the acorn style nuts..maybe something to consider trying.

You should only need one gasket on the head like they come with..The .6 copper gasket isn't that much of difference in thickness compared the stock gasket judging by the space shown in your pics.

If you did use both base gaskets as you're supposed to, you just need some washers under the nuts more than likely.

ok good point this kit did originally have acorns for head bolts when it arrived from zeda and i do have 2 engines worth of extra hardware just for something like this now on intake gaskets do you think red RTV would be a good sealant for a gt5 reed setup? and i dont have cylinder studs anymore i use hexbolts for the Studs/Head bolts

Well they sell them in .4 and .6

You want the .6 gaskets..if a .6 reads .4 before being crushed something wrong there..lol

Are you positive your hex bolts aren't a tad too long?

I'm cleaning all the threads on my motor with a tap first but install back one of the head studs and mark where it stops then compare the length of your new hex bolts to be sure.

View media item 60271Mechanics got a point about the head studs. Does the head actually feel loose? If so adding washers onder the head nuts would be the ticket if the studs are ran all the way in. Chances are the the gap you are seeing is common and is due to the raised crush ring on the head. The outer portion of the head by the holes isn't supposed to touch the cylinder. If you can't feel the head move do a compression check to see if it is sealing. notice the raised ringView media item 60685.
