welp, i think the old 18cc engine has had enough of my crap and finally gave up the ghost.

so, i went out a bought these leaf blowers and a weed eater to see what i could use.

ended cannibalizing the homelite blower since its 30cc and has more of a chainsaw jug then a regular weed eater jug (crank shaft is also a lot more beefier)

ill get better pictures later since its 10:30 and im calling it a day.
still need to figure out the throttle and stuff

(Homelite carb is the whitish one)

update, got it running!

muffler was super restricitve, and it was leting all the oil hit the tire and making it slip some.

so i removed the blocking plate and cut a hole on the other side, runs a whole lot better now!

top speed is around 30mph, and it climbs to it pretty fast!
need to get a better return spring, since this one sometimes wont return to idle all the way.
but for now this is alright

Save your money up Mark, and get one with shielding gas while you're it. You'll really like that!

my welder has worked for 40+ years and still does, so maybe you shouldn't be waiting for it to die, lol (and it was a cheapo one back then too)

Yup, only problem is my garage doesn't have 220v service. And theres no cheap way to add it (i live in a townhouse, with a weird wiring, it would cost about 600$ to get it installed)

So its kinda hard finding a 125v mig welder for a budget mind

Yea 😆
but in my mind, if it works well why replace it? There's really nothing wrong with it, and it welds fine with my upgrades i did to it. As much as i would like to drop 600$ into a killer welder, i just don't use it enough to justify it.

I would love a MIG welder for precision, but its really pricy, and I too think a stick welder is enough. Altough i'm about to start welding steel structure for my garage and IDK how well it will do. (or rather how well i will do)
