Hey Irish, You are not alone, I built a moon dog and with the help of some of the pro's here, it wasn't bad at all.
I did have to notch the fender for the chain and added some extra's like a suspension seat post.
Keep everything tight and you'll be alright.

Oh yeah, let some air out of tires for a little more suspension.

I dropped my moondog off the work bench and broke some of the cooling fins on the jug but it still seems to be running strong.
Also, I think that the tig welds on the moondog are awsome compared to most other bikes in that catagory.
Everyone has told me that the fenders will fall off and become a skid plate, so be careful. Mine haven't come lose yet and it's a few months old.
