I installed a 6 volt horn using a two cell Life battery (6.6volts) and compared it
to a 12 volt horn using a three cell Lipo (12.2-12.4 volts). The 6 volt sounded like
a loud bicycle horn, but the 12 volt sounded like a Volkswagon Car, deeper and
louder. So I recommend a 12 volt for street riding. I used an ordinary button
kill switch, (mounted on the handle bar) attached one wire of the battery to
the horn and one to a ground, the fender bolt. I attached the kill switch wire to
the other terminal on the horn, so pressing the kill button closes the circuit and
beeps the horn. The horn has to be mounted to the frame with rubber or plastic
isolation to prevent grounding.
