:giggle:Anybody know a good source for 7 Speed Cassetts ?
I just ordered a 105G GEBE rear wheel and need the slip on type cassette, and my old wheel was screw on type, looking for a inexpensive one.
I don't really use the gears much.
the bike shop has them starting around 50 buck's !!!!!
but they upcharge everything 50%...
any info would be great !!!! Can't wait to get the new wheel. I hope they are good quality ???

Thanks Andy

I looked up that store and there is one a few miles from my house ..
Cool ...

I did some research. GEBE's site says that wheel fits 8 or 9 speed cassette. For a 7 speed hub you will need a spacer.

http://www.performancebike.com/bike...ype=resultSet&cn1=&searchTerm=cassette+spacer

Buy that and the tool I linked to and you should be good to go.

Just tell them what you are doing, or better yet take the wheel in with you. I think they have bike mechanics there and I bet they will tighten the cassette for you with no charge.

That Sounds Like a plan !!!

Thanks.. Now just waiting for the wheel to get here !!!!
I got the tracking # !!!!!!
Thats pretty good service I placed order last night ..

Got the Wheel today woo hooo !!!!!
I a beefy beast..
drive ring is on , tire on .
just need to get the gears ....

Got the Cassette on

It cost $ 21.50 for cassette and spacer.
Note: There are 3 screws on back of cassette, if you use a spacer you must remove screws. The brand of the cassette is " FORTE "
One quick question .... Should I use the black tie wraps on the 105G wheel like I did on my 14G wheel ???
And does anybody recommend using Epoxy where the spokes meet the drive ring???? Just trying the make this wheel as strong as possible...
Thanks for any info !!!!
