I may have missed it in these posts but was it mentioned to be sure to use cam lube between the set of points and the revolving cam???

It is necessary to do so because the nub on the pointset that rides on the cam of what passes for a distributor, will quickly wear down, changing the gap/dwell rather rapidly...just my 2 cents worth...DAMIEN

Ps...Please do not forget to adjust the points on the high point of the cam at wide open position for the points...May sound obvious, but the newer generation do not know these things like us old folks...lol.
 
I suppose that crank shaft lobe that drives the points open could wear down
It certainly does wear down and quite rapidly at that until those suckers close right up on ya...i have tuned many a vehicle in the past when cars and trucks still had regular distributors before electronic ignition systems were even a common thing...YES!!!...im that old...lol...DAMIEN
