79cc Hybrid Electric

My 3rd build and crowning achievement, 79cc Hybrid Electric. Rides like a dream!!
79cc ported and polished, governor removed, shaved head for higher compression, straight pipe, 12v light system, LED headlamp that is extremely bright for night rides. 1000w front hub motor, disc brake and horn. Engine has all shrouding removed as well as bulky pull start casing. Custom gearing, 40 mph. Takes off like a beast with both throttles engaged.

Not sturdy lookin?

That’s a lot of weight and initial torque you have goin’ there. Piercing the tubing kinda makes the stay prone to fracture — you may not even see it comin’, if the tubing stretches first. Watch it for thinning, or cracks, even early warnings of blemish in/under the paint. You kinda put the dent in the side of the soda can, with that one... Looks like you do have access to a welder, so tacking a tab or barrel mount may have been a consideration.

Best way is find a tube the bolt fits through and weld that into the chain stay. Heavy wall will make it easier to weld.
