I was really surprised when I bought the engine I'm ha.ming in my ct90 that the seller didn't try jacking ul the shipping. I messaged him because he hadn't shipped a few days after I paid, but he said the shipping was way more expensive than before and he was trying to find a cheaper way to ship. He never asked me to pay more and he never changed it.

I would avoid that seller then since he is using shipping charges as a "loss leader" in his ads and then jacking it up after the sale...He knows full well what he is doing and it is deceitful.
That would be false advertising. I would talk to ebay if someone tried to do that to me. You should only have to pay your bid amount and the shipping price that is listed. I would not pay more
