This engine is a vibrator, the only smooth zone is idle to off idle.
I did a search and it was noted on a mini-bike site that the 212 is nowhere near as smooth as a blue (196) clone.
I put a rubber pad under the engine with isolators below and it helped a lot but I am still annoyed.
I reccomend avoiding this engine in favor of the prior 6.5 engine or one that is still available at a different source (kart suppliers still use the 196).
I have only a bit of experience with the 196 on some go-karts and they were fine.
