I recently got a weed eater from my dad. I was going to do a friction motor but then i realized, I think the weed eater turns the wrong way. Does this mean I have to just put the weed eater on the opposite side or what?? Plz help.. forrest:-|

You could add a second roller below your drive roller. Drive roller turns second roller the wrong way turns wheel the right way. You could even do one drive roller on top of TWO secondary rollers for more tire contact and better grip. OR separate the two bottom rollers and have a thick belt going around all three contacting a good portion of the tire at least 6 inches if not possibly more.
Or you can turn it around. :D

Haha so many choices that I never would've thought of.. Thnx I will either try just putting it on the other side, or ill add another roller.
Thnx for the help... Forrest

look for deacon. He is king of weed whacker friction drives.

but it will still be about 10 degrees retarded instead of advanced....

Sorry about that. I read that they could run backwards. I've never done this, but maybe take the flywheel off and reposition it... or just mount it on the other side. Whatever's easier.
