Will this motor hook up to a staton FD kit without mods? Also the shipping weight is 26lbs would this be too heavy you think on just 1 side? Will a standard HD 3 spring 78mm clutch work on the 5/8 shaft? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one of these just for the power and speed of it w/o having to buy a different drive kit. TIA for any input.

First of all, if you want it to be street legal, 99cc wil not work.

yea you've got a point, be hard to claim its a 49cc ya think. Seems like alot of weight for 4 8mm bolts screwed into alum to hold up especially when off centered.

Will NOT work as a friction drive engine in the normal sense as the 5/8" shaft will not allow a standard 78mm clutch...

You would need to add a go cart style centrifugal clutch to the shaft and have the engine mounted on top of the FD channel and run it via chain or v belt!

26 pound engine is way to heavy hanging off on side of the bike anyways!!!

I've decided against it, sure is tempting at 100$ for a new motor.
