Adjustable dual chain transmission.

Oil bath also makes it quieter.
Yes, it does. I don't really mind the noise, but beneficial side effects are always welcome.

Getting it sealed is going to be the tricky part. It needs to not leak, but it also needs to breathe so it doesn't build up pressure as it gets hot. I was thinking about making my oil fill location also act as my breather. Maybe a hose barb fitting that I can thread into the housing. Then run a hose up up under the seat or fuel tank.

That's an issue many have ran into with the Staton Inc gearbox. They'd open it up thinking it needed to have fresh grease in it only to discover the gearbox had been sealed. Most usually had to send it back to David to try and fix their mistake of opening it up.

High pressure gasket maker???

I actually did consider the idea of a PCV, or at least a check ball on said breather hose. It's a good way to help keep dirt making its way into the case, and would create a slight vacuum in the case that would definitely help with oil retention from any potential seepage, at least to a small degree.

Well, my oil bath idea isn't going to work on this particular transmission. I was curious about the porosity of this casting, and how thin it is, and so I put some oil in the bottom of the case while I have it apart, and it seeped through after a few days of sitting there. I could probably try and seal it, but I just don't feel like wasting time and money on something like that, so the chain is just going to get a hot bath in some liquified grease and then stay slathered up. I am still going to try an seal up he case halves to try and keep as much dirt out as I can, but I will have to save the idea for another day.
