OH, set plug at 23, remove exhaust muffler and intake breather before starting too.
Still more after this.:)

Hi Ray, would you have a proper spark plug number I should be using in my 99WC,the one that is in it might not be the right one and it is all black.

Hi Dale,
Factory plug was a L87YC gap .025
Here's( 2) I'm using ,both are iridium spark plugs. Gap. 025 same.
The NGK thread reach is 1/2"and the champion is 3/8" a little short, but no ill effects.

Thanks Ray for all the pictures and plug info, hope this will help me to get it to run again. I have it at work where it is heated. Ever here of an electric drill to start a whizzer off the nut on the pulley ? we even tried that. Also have a new 20mm carb to try next with 84 main jet ? I'll let you know what happens !

Hi Dale, stock carb main jet should be #74,#76 or#78. 84 is to big.
Lifters should be set at .009 " exhaust and .007" intake. Motor is cold.

Also check your timing, should be one tooth advance, (see pic.)
Does the spark plug have spark?
Not a good idea to use a electric drill on the flywheel.
Can you give more info?

Dale, make sure the ground wire is secure, to the battery box hold down.
