Im running a ktm 50 motor on my bike. Its running fine, but i just realized that the air filter that i put on as a stop-gap measure is not particularly great. its circular and draws from the sides but has only a metal screen as a barrier which does nothing for dust,
Is there some kind of filter paper or something that should go in there?

I think adding air filter oil on it should be fine?

I'm not sure, if someone knows please tell me if i'm wrong

Those aircleaners are really no more than pretty looking valve cover breathers and don't have a lot of surface media.

A 50 or 70 cc sized Uni filter would be good, although they still pass a tiny bit of dust despite the oil/foam filtering. Paper pleated filters are best, it's what all modern cars and motorcycles use.

Fabricating a paper element filter box would be troublesome. You might find an older scooter filter box that may just clamp right on, make sure you can still get the filter element for the bike it's made for.
