Another clutch issue

Hey yal, I've built a few bikes and fixed a few more but I've not ever had this problem. I've loosened it, I've tightened it. The cover isn't even close to fitting back on half the time and when it does, this is what happened. any tips beyond what I've tried would be awesome. I bought this one from a local builder, More than likely it is as is. another builder, I bought a E bike and the front tire flew off. Last 2 stroke got stolen. Now this lol. Bad luck streak needs to be turned around

Pics of the actual area where the pressure plate covers the clutch pads would be good to see as it appears that the bolt the flower nut screws onto is what is doing the pushing on the cover...The other side of the motor where the clutch actuating arm is at would also be useful...make sure the clutch lever is totally let off, fully released and at rest postion when you take those pics.

You have the flower nut put on backwards and it is protruding outward.

Engage the clutch and lock it into position and then remove the retaining screw and then remove that main flower nut and turn it around...The protusion parts is supposed to go inside, not protrude outward.

Thats why I wanted to see a pic, thats what I was expecting to see...lol.

Sometimes that's the way we learn.
Put it together wrong or break it the first time so we learn how to do it right the next time, Been there done that

The OP said it came that way, I was talking about the workers that put the engine together. I’ve found a lot of things wrong, I never assume they did everything right.
