Hello everyone,
I've been lurking for quite a while, and absolutely love some of the bikes I've seen here. I've been bicycling since age 5--------always Schwinns, hence my name. Until recently I'd never considered a motor-assisted bicycle, but now I really want one!
Currently my choices are narrowed to a GEBE or Staton kit, with either a 32cc Tanaka or 35cc Robin motor. I've searched through all the old threads that discuss these two systems, and think I've got a handle on what each has to offer. I haven't seen a MPG comparison of the two however, and would love some hard numbers to consider. I suspect the GEBE kit does noticeably better due to less friction and power direction changes, but that's just guess. I'm leaning towards the GEBE for my first kit, then a Staton and 40-50cc motor on an old tandem or Heavy Duty (as finances allow).
Anyway, it's nice to be signed up, and able to chat with you folks.
