Any American made ebikes/mopeds out there

For pedal assist you want a bicycle that is reasonably efficient to pedal. Touring/hybrid/commuter are terms to look for. Something with wide gearing, a comfortable but not fully upright posture. The goal isn't a time trial tuck, or being able to micro tune the gearing, but something you could ride all day. every day.

I can't find it right now but I remember a 4 stroke friction drive build that had the engine concealed with a basket attached to the rack. With the quietest possible exhaust, that could work fairly well. I cannot recommend a staton kit and a honda clone enough.

As a guide, my ebike had a 19ah battery and I could go 37 miles down to a 10% charge using throttle only. So that's a 19 mile range before needing to head back. That was on a $2200 ebike. That was not enough range for me, needed another extra batt to be happy. At the time an extra 19ah batt that could only be bought from the mfr was $1300. Way too much just for a batt so I sold it. Batts have come down in price to half that now. Check out Rad ebikes, price is right, W has one and endorses them. IR has a an Ebike he likes a lot, can't remember the name. 90% of all ebikes and parts are made in china even if they claim to be an American co. That's my experience. You can gamble on a $700 ebike with some nice specs and features. Unknown named Chinese co, but will they be around to warranty it or if you need proprietary parts in a year or two? Batteries and controllers are not universal and ARE proprietary to that manufacturer.
Check out the Akez Ebikes. I have a 48 v dual battery 26Ah on that bike and it will run 25 mph (Controller Amp Limited) for at least 34 miles.
The Ebike is actually a steel-frame Moped and the HubMotor is geared. I have over 4K miles on that Ebike and it has most of those miles
pulling a trailer full of groceries and water. You can buy one of them for under $1200 with dual-chargers! :D
