Anyone Using Moped Tires and Rims?

I’m looking to use narrow 19” moped wheels and tires laced with 11g or 12g spokes.

The tires are Mitas 2.25 x 19 size, and cost $29.

The wheels are from Europe. They are 1.2 x 19” rims and cost $24.

Of course, shipping is expensive.

I believe the tires will be 2.25” wide or less, and about 23.5” diameter.

The Sixthreezero bike and suspension fork should be wide enough for these moped spoked wheels and tires.

The biggest problems will be welding disc brake tabs on the frame, and lacing the wheels.

I have short legs, so tires less than 24” would work for me.

I have some Moby parts here that I'm going to incorporate into my next bike and the wheels are a couple of the parts. I think they are 24" wheels in bicycle speak but only 17" in moped.

The wheels and tires I found were for Solex motorized bicycles, I believe.

How wide are your wheels and tires?

The tires are 2.25 x 17. I think the wheels are 1.5/17. They have drum brakes.

Does your rear have a sprocket on both sides?

Mine's are rims only.

I have to lace them to my bike hubs.

Mine are complete, IIRC they measured 24" high with the rubber on them.

Just went and checked, 22" high tires. So your 19s will probably be 24.
