Major design change.....

I’m working on reversing the engine, so the clutch is on the right side of the bike.

Using a 226mm bottom bracket cartridge and offset crank arms, the pedals clear the engine.

FWIW, the pull start was eliminated and a clear plexiglass plate covers the hole.

The offset crank arm barely clears the plexiglass.

You could gain a little more clearance if you went to a billet flywheel and then reduced the size of the cover.

Since I have an electric start, the billet flywheel I'd need costs $250.
That billet wheel won’t accept the charging coil, so that’s unacceptable.

And the plexiglass cover is only a quarter-inch thick.

I think 1/8" plexiglass would crack from engine vibrations.

If it clears, then that's good enough. My pedals only clear by an 8th all around, and the exhaust clears by an 8th on both sides. Doesn't affect performance any.
