I took apart the top end of a bike I recently bought off Facebook (yeah ik what you're all about to say). Cleaned up the ports, Polished the piston, etc. But when it came time to assemble it all back together, I realized, although the piston clips were sturdy in place, they were quite easy to turn around, like too easy. Seemed to me that they were loose, but at the same time they didn't budge out of their housing. Should I get new piston clips or is this normal? Btw I'm reusing the old ones and they are the style of clips with 2 ears instead of one. Sorry for the huge a** essay.. I'm in a dilemma.

This post is nothing compared to others lol. It was easily readable. I would suggest replacing them. I personally like the design with no ears, but they are a pita to get out. Order some 10mm ones from hl supply
He didn't mention what motor he had Gordy, so do not assume 10mm wrist pin clips...As a Phantom 85 owner you should know better...lol.

I have one of those 2 stroke 49mm steel bore motor kits. Is it a good idea to use snap ring piston circlips? I have a hard time finding 12mm g clips with quick and cheap enough shipping and have heard horror stories of the tails breaking off. However I found these snap ring sorta circlips on amazon. Can I run these in my 49mm 2 stroke?

Do you mean 49cc 2 stroke???...What engine in particular do you actually have as this will make a difference of what size your clips are gonna be...It is gonna be either a 10mm or 12mm clip and I see that, that kit starts at 11mm, not 10mm.

My engines are both 12mm because they are Phantom 85s so take a minute or two to tell us what you got so we can tell you what fits...No different than going to an autoparts store for your car parts, a Ford part doesn't fit a Chevy product.

No, he means a 49mm iron bore engine.

Get these. They ship pretty quickly and these guys have awesome customer service. I tried to use clips like that, but they don't compress enough.
