I stand by my statement...after ten years of building these things 36 tooth is and has been the most major improvement here in the high desert area, at least for top end...DAMIEN

Ps...I have since found out it is not the 36 tooth sprocket but is actually the fact the Zeda 80 triple 40 design with ceramic lined cylinder has much better low end grunt power than most run of the mill CGs and is not 66cc but is actually 69.4 cc motor.

To owners of the new Phantom 85 motor that most have been purchased from bicycle-engines.com.

There is a known issue regarding defective parts in this present run of motors regarding bushings and pins that was causing some major issues.

When I saw that here in the forums from a fellow member having a problem with his soon after riding it, I contacted my contact, Rebecca, at bicycle-engine.com to alert them to the situation as it is also widely reported in other forums other than ours as well.

They acknowledge that there is a problem and down below is the copy of the email they sent me right after I alerted them that a forum member also has the same situation...DAMIEN



Hello ****,

We currently have a hold on our Phantom 85s, as we were made aware of a defect in the bushings and pins that was causing some major issues.

At this time, we are waiting for new updated replacements from our manufacturer that we will replace on our current stock before relisting them on our site. Any warranties that arise will be back-ordered until we receive that shipment. The current ETA for those is 2-3 weeks, but we will have a more accurate estimate soon.
