I have been through 3 coaster breaks, and they have all had mechanical failure. In all fairness they were all wall mart type hubs with coaster break. Is the coaster break completely out of the question and they will all eventually fail or would something like this work anyone try it?

Are you using a front brake?

The Nexus will be a vast improvement over department store bike brakes but I'd never go with just a coaster brake of any make. Balanced stopping power and reliability will depend on braking both wheels and where a disc or decent rim brake in front accounts for the majority of braking.

The more u pay for something the better it is,but having said that i'm not a big fan of the coaster brake.Better front & rear v-brakes or disks(or front drum & some forementioned rear)

I have heard good thing about huffy wheels (strong and durable for a low price)
I think Augi got some back in the day here
