I currently have a mountain bike that i hope to slap an engine on and i have a couple of questions. What kinds of bikes have the most speed when motorized? and What kind of engines have the most kick to it? I have been looking at these ebay bike kits, are they any good? i've been looking at the photo gallery and it seems like some engisne kits have had a few upgrades, can someone show me a good bike website?

Thanks

all I can suggest is to read all you can on this site
lots of good info here and people have done a lot of different styles of bikes

Observations without any science to back me up-

26" tires are faster than 24", road tires seem to have an edge on knobbies.

Being in 7th gear is faster than my cruiser's 1 speed.

Proper break-in procedure, for the first 150 miles, has more to do with performance than nearly anything else.

Learn to use the Search feature. A wealth of info is already available. Not only for which engine, but tech/mech issues and help topics. A large portion of questions we've seen posted as new in the last month have already been addressed. AND the Resources tab at the tops of these pages will direct you to reputable vendors to supply you with engine kits/parts, once you've made an informed decision.

Happy
