Bizarre clutch issue

take the clutch arm cover off, remove the bucking bar and ball. Remove the gear from the shaft. Remove clutch cover. Use a deadblow hammer or a regular hammer and block of wood and give the clutch shaft a whack on the clutch arm side to remove the clutch shaft. You do not have to separate the case to get the clutch out.
 
ok I pulled the clutch and I think I found the problem. the inner rod the part that the flower nut attaches to is hella bent and that's probably preventing it from retracting properly and pulling the clutch plate all the way in. so I guess I need a new one. thanks guys.
