Blew a exhaust/muffler gasket, HELP!

Those are just deserted island or virus lock down remidies or if you submit your nation's sovereignty over to a globalist over lord (live in the EU) lol. Gasket kits are so cheap for these and if you value your time are the fastest way if you keep a few on hand

Auto parts store and get gasket material for making all your gaskets or buy a bunch of stock gaskets they are cheap and it's better to have extras than none at al. I use fel-pro gasket paper. It's cheap and available in different thicknesses for setting your jug height. This roll was under 15.00 canadian and is .8mm thick.

Gasket making 101 $save$ Gaskets made easy,
Don't reach for the razor blade. Grab your 8oz alignment tool (ball peen hammer) and tap it out.
Lightly tap gasket around the edges. As you tap out the bolt holes install bolts to keep gasket aligned.
The 1/32" rubber fiber sheet is great for making valve cover, cyl base, and intake gaskets.
It only took me 3 mins. to tap out this valve cover gasket. I had a lot of gasket material I made a lot of gaskets.
The Fel-Pro rubber fiber sheet 26' x 10' x 1/32" can be bought at your local auto parts store for around $7
I suggest using OEM gaskets for center case and some side covers as these gaskets are harder to make.

Making Exhaust gaskets,
Some exhaust gasket material can be hole punched and cut out.
Other gasket material requires a little thought and planning to cut it out.
I use Mr. Gasket Ultra Seal Exhaust gasket sheet material 1/16" x 10" x 10" it's Graphite with a steel mesh center. Around $15

What works for me the way I cut it out,
I screw (sandwich) the gasket sheet between two pieces of wood the top piece is 1/8" panel board and the bottom is 3/4" press board.
I have laid out a grid pattern on the panel board so I can fit as many gaskets as I can on the gasket sheet. I can make 20
I use an OEM gasket to trace. I mark the center of the Exhaust hole on the panel board. I drill a guide hole
I then drill out all the exhaust holes with the correct size hole saw. 1" in my case.
Next using the OEM gasket I line it up with the exhaust hole I just drilled. I now mark the bolt holes, I then drill out the bolt holes.
Now I remove the exhaust gasket sheet from the wood and I trace the outline of the OEM gasket for all 20 gaskets
Using my mechanic (scissors) sheers I cut out the exhaust gaskets. I clean up all the edges and holes with 120 sand paper or a round file if needed.

I made 20 about 13 years ago and I have given many away to some friends. Now I only have 2 left It's time to make some more.
That's the last thing I want to worry about when working on my bike is an exhaust gasket. It's better to have too many than not enough.

Tip: When using the hole saw don't use too much force, cause the hole saw will rip through the 1/8" panel board and plunge into the gasket grabbing the steal mesh center and F^*king it up. Just drill with light pressure and let the hole saw do the cutting and you'll be fine.
Drill a pilot hole for the hole saw pilot hole drill bit

Tip: When drilling bolt holes start with the smallest drill bit and work you way up to bolt hole size.
