Hi all, so who's owned or built a BTR or Tribute bike with a Drop Loop Frame? How'd you go about it?
Bought frame? Made frame? Which forks did you use? Real Tank or a dummy with a plastic one inside?
Which engine? Which Drive set up?
Anyone racing these bikes outside Germany?

Check close. Sportsmanflyer.com. He has droop loop bicycle frames, bicycles, parts, complete bolt on engine kits and three or four models of completely built motorized bicycles or essentially small motorcycles.

Check also Matt Walksler on wheelsthroughtime youtube channel. He races original Harley board track motorcycles. I don't know if his father, Dale, still races. It's pretty cool looking and listening to his old motorcycles on his youtube channel. Also Son's of Speed Antique motorcycle racing on youtube used to race. I don't know if they still do. Billy Lane is another builder and racer of board track motorcycles. These gentlemen have devoted their lives to building and restoring board track style motorcycles.

man those sportsman flyer kits/bikes are expensive, I wonder if you could get a similar result for cheaper if you took a hacksaw and a welder to a Cranbrook

Most use the Worksman Flyer D/L frame bike https://worksmancycles.com/flyer-by-sportsman.html and buy the https://monarkforks.com/ separate
Might save money and frustration just to buy a BTR from https://sportsmanflyer.com/
To build a BTR correct your gonna have $3k in it a least when your done
There is also the "Harken" Made in India D/L frame sold on E bay https://www.ebay.com/str/harkenville
When using a Worksman Flyer bike most buy their accessories from Sportsman Flyer or make their own tank, forks and stuff
BTW Spotsman Flyer makes the Worksman Flyer D/L frame. SAME
How to build depends on which engine your gonna use a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke like a HF Predator 79cc or a big Honda 160cc, 200cc

Sorry I have no info for AUS. BTR frames, parts and stuff

Thanks for the links and info Wrench. Both the sportsman and worksman look very good.
Im pretty handy with steel and looking at making as much as possible myself.
My preference for engine would be a Honda GC160 or 190.

I like the Monark Springer Front ends too.

I never knew he was battling cancer. Dale will be missed. I love the show What's in the Barn.
I've always wanted to go to his "Museum that Runs" Wheels Through Time in Maggie Valley N.C.
