Hey there...:) So we're going to do this one properly..!

Originally, I was going to go with a dedicated board track racer, but this idea became a little too cost prohibitive. With the frames at around $350 USD, that would be almost $500 by the time it got to Oz. And that's not even with the tank. In reality I was probably looking at around $1k AUD just in the frame..!So what I've decided on now is a hybrid street/board track. GT-5 frame with double springer front end, board track style bars and seat set up. Best of both worlds..!

The idea is to have quality parts and running gear throughout, sourced from both bike and motorcycle brands. This thing will be fast so it has to be safe as well - plus it's not exactly legal to be riding these things on the street where I come from. It will be built around a Fred's Superhammer that I got customised with a 6cc decomp head, 17mm Delorto style PHBG carb, and RM80 exhaust. I live in a flat coastal area at sea level, so it will be turning a 30 or 32T sprocket - see how we go. Thinking of a dark frame colour (gunmetal grey??) that will be offset with anodised gold running gear and parts.

Anyway, here's a list of parts and specs with some photos of goodies I've been sourcing for a few months now. The frame is still around 2 weeks away but the hold up will be the forks. Anyone know where else apart from Bicycle Designer I can source Cuda Double Springer forks from..??!

Cheers
Crisco:)

I'll see you there Gary and I'll raise you one...;)

It will be an absolute pain in the ass but I was thinking of completing the build with frame as is. Then.... Running it in and tuning the carb and exhaust and getting everything shmick before stripping it all down to paint...

I can already see there is a little cutting and shutting to do on this frame anyways..

If only they had a seat post taser to fire a couple of spikes up through the cushion and be activated by the cell phone your tracking them on.
That would simply require a second cell phone and some careful soldering skills, nothing I haven't played with before. Good idea on a tazer, I'd simply put a pressure activated switch in the seat with a physical kill switch (don't trust a computer with a tazer held to your ass) I can activate or deactivate at my leisure, hidden of course. Next person to sit on it without throwing the switch gets a fun 500k volt zap to the crotch.

If I wanted something real fun I'd set a pepper spray charge aimed towards the face area of a suspected thief. Incapacitated on site, should be easy for the police to find the drooling crying mess of a person in the general area of the bike.

And that can be disabled with a physical cap or flap, so if an accidental charge is let go while I'm on it I'm not screwed.

Maybe some dye mixed in like the banks do

Love these grips but they are super tight..! Managed to get one over the alloy of my throttle, but can't get the other over the plastic tube of a standard MTB lock on grip. The plastic just crushes:mad:

Fabbed up an alli inner then slid in no dramas with a bit of brake cleaner for lube..;)

Removed the crapola Chinesium studs from front and rear and replaced with 8.8 Grade. Drilled and tapped fronts out to 5/16 for better torsional strength. Locked them in with red Loctite only to be removed by a nuclear explosion...
