That's called a coaster brake, and yes, there is a way to remove it. This is how I removed mine, I know it's not the best, but I haven't picture documented it yet.

And now as for you Gerald, No excuses...lol...lol...Your from my neck of the woods in New England Gerald, a seat of learning...lol...lol...We are supposed to know how to spell and speak and use proper English so we can teach these "heathens" how to speak and spell the English language in a proper fashion...lol...lol.

Trust me, I have tried. I just can't figure it out. It's quite difficult.

Visualization learning. If you pull the brake lever on your bike, you come to a stop. If you pull the break lever on your bike, it falls apart.
