I amin the process of building a 4 stroke bike... and was wondering... what do you guys prefer... coaster brakes or caliper brakes? Any input would be appreciated.

Anything that will make you skid both tires should be fine depending on your weight,...
BUT NO COASTER BRAKES! Not safe. Have fun.

If you use a coaster brake on the rear, put a caliper brake on the front. Never trust your life to only one brake. Chains come off, cables freeze up, handles break, etc. Always have a backup.

I like a coaster in the rear and a drum up front, but for my current build I'm going rear coaster front disc.

if your bike is done up right then a rear coaster is fine. just don't buy a cheap Chinese one and remember to pack it with grease every once in a while. your front brake is the one that does all the work anyway
