Brand new engine low compression (50 psi)

Do you guys break in new engine with 40:1? Also do you try to use conventional oil versus synthetic to break it in? And last but not least is it at all possible that 50psi is normal for an engine that hasn't been broken in yet and once I get it broken in and rings seated then my compression will go up?

One more question sorry guys...what the hell is actually happening when rings "seat"? Are they kind of scraping away cylinder wall evenly and getting a real nice tight seal? Or are they seating more into the grooves of the piston?
Use 20:1 for break in if this, nothing else...
Conventional is the way to go when doing break in, and synthetic after.

The rings basically wear a groove into the wall in areas that have more pressure outward than others. That then makes the other areas sit better against the wall of the cylinder.

If the cable coming out of the handle or coming out of the sheath and attaching to the lever is very tight, it's probably holding the clutch open and needs adjusting. If it has a little bit of slack, it's probably fine.
FYI we had a user here very recently who couldn't get his to start, come to find out after much troubleshooting it was the stock plug he was using. Even though it was sparking when he tested it outside of the engine. Replacing the plug solved all his problems.
Yeah I just bought a stock plug because it didn't come with one...looking forward to what that magical ngk one can do tomorrow...

I dont know if I did it right but I pulled the cable through the tiny hole in the clutch never as tight as I could then I tightened the set screw...when I push the bike I have to give it force to push but I can still actually move it...maybe I need to adjust the flower nut end of things?

For break in the recommended mixture is 16:1. Use conventional oil.
When the rings seat they're getting.... worn to the cylinder lol. They don't remove much material at all though. I'm sure there's videos that explain it a lot better.
I would do 20:1. 16:1 will foul plugs constantly

The flower nut needs tightening for sure. While you're in there, tell us what color clutch pads you have

Can I just use sae30 small engine oil (if I have that laying around and it is conventional) or does it have to say 2 cycle oil? I'm just anxious to do this...it's Thanksgiving and nobody is open...I want to try with a higher oil ratio and conventional to see if maybe that boosts compression enough to get it running and then able to break it in....is that also wishful thinking? That 20:1 versus 40:1 will give me a touch more compression with that extra oil? Kind of like dry vs wet compression testing...you add oil and compression goes up a little because it helps seal

No, don't use conventional 4t oil. That plugs stuff up. I get the ambition, but I don't want you to have issues later on because of it. And the oil ratio isn't a compression thing, it's more of a lubrication thing for proper break in

Should I tighten flower nut to the point that I can not move my bike forward at all unless I really give it a ton of force? Like I said it definitley is hard to push but maybe it could be harder to push...

Here.. follow this...

One other thing guys I noticed a kink in my exhaust...could thst have any impact on performance? Or could it potentially cause fuel mixture issues like running too rich?
