Gotta go guys, but I WILL check back later. Thanks.

OH what tube????? And why?
This one. It will make it a bit louder, but the performance gain is worth it

Oh cool! Found that flex muffler all over the place. I will keep that in mind. But while mine is so very fixable, (lousy nut) I'll just fix it for now.

So guys, that tube you want me to cut off. What exactly is it's purpose in the first place? That has to do something.

One more question, when I was first looking for why the bike got so loud while running I was moving my hand around the motor and could feel air coming out from assorted places. Is that normal? I thought air in through the air filter and out the exhaust pipe. Noting appears loose. Guess I really should pinpoint exactly where but if this is a normal thing I won't worry about it.

Motor runs like crap btw, cleaned the carb this spring when it wouldn't start at all. Sure enough the jets were totally blocked. Started only using marine fuel with sea foam but it's made no difference. It surges, then lags, give it gas and it goes huh? THEN goes. If riding at a steady speed it's like someone is bumping me from behind. Motor is anything but smooth. I have been told assorted things to fuss with. Namely the intake output valves. BUT I have tried that before with a previous motor. To put it mildly I suck at motor repair. Can't nail down where top dead center actually is. And get that wrong and the adjustments are off. I gave up trying to fix that motor and bought the one on it now.
THEN someone else told me it's a throttle adjustment? I don't get that one. Again pretty simple, wire pulls, on. Let go, off. What else is there to adjust. Then someone else mentioned that brass plug so you can't fuss with the fuel mix. Well frankly I think that plug was put in there for a reason and that's the last thing I want to mess with. But something is off. All that being said the bike runs. So any major motor fussin is going to wait till my riding season is almost over.

The tube is the final baffle before the exit, the exhaust gases have to back up to exit that tube. If you cut the tube off then the gases just exit, so it will be louder.

You should feel more air moving on one side of the engine than the other. The pull start side has a fan behind the starter mechanism that forces air up and over the cylinder to keep it cool.

My engine ran just like you described. I finally drilled out my main jet to eliminate the lean mixture. What a difference! Make sure your carb is
totally clean on the inside (all the passages and jets) before you decide to do this.

I really like your bike. I didn't think this motor would fit in there. Nice installation. How did you attach the sprocket on your wheel ? Can't see it too well in this picture.

Thanks and lol... I didn't! My original wheel got damaged and I had to get another one from a bike shop. Then I paid extra to change out the spokes for thicker ones and while they were at it put on that sprocket thing. That job is a ROYAL pain. And even with them doing it on a gadget that holds the wheel level etc... it's still slightly off center. Not enough to effect anything so I leave that alone.

Back to the motor, drilling out that brass bit. now when this motor was new it ran smooth. Wasn't until it sat all winter and the carb got gummed up that this started. I could always clean it again, (probably will next spring.) OR just get a new carb. (Just had my riding mower fixed and same problem, surging, had THEM put a carb in. I really hate mechanics. Not my thing. They said basically it's the same problem with these bikes Those jets are microscopic and they don't even bother cleaning them, replace.
