Bucking bar stuck wont come out

I thought I had clutch issues so I took the thing apart a couple times without changing the bearings.
If I remember correctly it came out through the sprocket side. There was some issue pressing the bearing back in so I used a socket as a bushing and tapped the bearing back into it's race.

I was trying to find a video of it but couldn't find one where they didn't beat it half to death with a hammer. All that is necessary is to thread the big bolt back on and put a piece of wood against it followed by a sharp tap. Don't beat directly on the bolt or the threads and the thing should just pop out.

I saw a youtube video of it using a piece of wood just like you described. I was able to get the sprocket and the other side off with the removal tool, but the assembly is still in there and it still will not come out. I am afraid if I bang it too hard it might damage something if I hit it much harder, even with the wood to cushion the blow. Any suggestions?

Here is the youtube video that helped me, but he made banging it out by hitting it with wood in between the hammer look easy. Is there a less brutal way to get the assembly out of the shaft? I am so close.

Looks like he removes it from the other side. I found this vid too. I like the cigs hanging out of their mouths giving them eye tokes.
Try tapping it from the sprocket side.

I just can't remember exactly what I did.

All I can think of is to make sure the half moon keys (woodruff key) are removed from both ends of the shaft.

I've looked and all I can find is the hack and bash method.

I must of lucked out and found a good video last time.

It worked. I grabbed a rubber hammer and hit it from the right side instead of the left and it came out after a few hits. Nice to know it can come out on either side. If one side doesn't want to come out try the other. Thanks for posting that video.

Do you know how to pull back on the spring enough to take the assembly apart?

Check out the first vid in this bunch that explains how it works.
There is a collar with notches in it, simply unscrew it and the spring comes off. This collar adjusts the pre load on the spring.
Both of mine needed adjustment of the pre load that can be done after assembly.
Hughes Motorized has a couple videos on how to do it.

Yeah, I watched it. I am having trouble getting the bearing off. I tried whacking it with that rubber hammer, but it is stubborn. Is that the best way to get it off?

No new ideas for you. I'm tempted to take one apart just to remember how I did it. Not that it would help you much.
I'm liking the the gal with the smoke hanging and the big hammer.
