Looking to put a 1.2hp engine from my friends motor scooter onto my Quest Omega mountain Bike. How should I go about doing this? Im planning to mount the engine on the rear equipment rack of the bike. Any help on the things I need, and other information will be greatly appreciated :)

:cool:Jeez, Chris, Davesmotors has a BUNCH of high-hp engines at reasonable prices. granted, they are Chung Yang chinese engines, but i'd be interested in the 46cc/4.2hp model for $255. this engine has a 78mm clutch, so it should bolt onto a gear/chain drive kit. STATON'S setup should be strong enough to handle this power.

Yep, I clicked the Davemotor link, can't picture the existing luggage rack being in the equation.

If you are going chain drive, up the horsepower, spend a few bucks more and get the full effect.

Don't bother even trying to put an engine on a regular luggage rack, it's only held on by two tiny 1/8" screws at the bottom. Those screws (and the holes they are threaded into) wouldn't be strong enough if they were made of titanium.

Look at a strap-type mount such as what Golden Eagle does.
