I did it years ago by flipping the jug 180 degrees, running the exhaust out the back and carb out the front. wasn't the first to do it either. ram air has no appreciable effect under about 80 miles per hour. the advantage it gave was a cooler air charge and easier packaging in that particular frame. major disadvantage is that it ran very hot. cooler air charge means hotter combustion and the exhaust routed out the back meant that it wasn't in the air path, so it got way hotter than it should've. it also wasn't easy to design an expansion chamber that would fit it without sticking a foot past the rear tire. the thing went like hell, one of the first bikes to break 50 miles per hour. just didn't go like hell for very long.
