Engine Trouble Can engine chain drive gear be set in or out

Does anyone know if the engine chain drive gear be set in or out I was thinking about using a spacer underneath. A 1/4 " would help move the chain away from the wheel.

hard to do for more than 1/16" or so as key slot is very important - there are offset motor mounts for use on bikes with 4" wide tires, but for most folks tire clearance is done on back wheel & sprocket

I doubt that little offset will help if there is a real problem - in practice, I usually work it from the back by other tricks, if all else fails I dish the tire over, then space the axle back to center tire in frame.

This isn't for major clearance issues. It's for people who are just barely rubbing and don't want to do anything dramatic. Look at how much of a difference 1.95 tires and 2.125 tires can be in terms of clearance, and that's only a difference of 0.175 inches.
