Clutch cant get clutch cable tight

i was riding my bike to work the other night its been running fine and all of the sudden the engine shut off and it wouldnt pedal my chain froze up on the front dont know what caused it dont know if my bikes shot or not after getting chain undone i tried to tighten clutch cable but the damn little screw keeps popping out of that bar and will not tighten does anyone know what i can do to get and keep cable tight?

You can buy a brass cable stop from most suppliers...can't remember what they are actually called

many of those levers have a second hole in bottom thru which you can bring another screw up to lock it
