This is how I had the wiring set up. I tried disconnecting the kill switch wires entirely to make sure that wasn't interfering and still nothing happening. This is my first time attempting a build so I'm not sure what to try from here. This is the kit I have, if that offers any help.

Is the coil making good ground? Might have to lightly sand the back side of tje magneto coil and the case, then reinstall.
And lets not forget to make sure that the wires are not going to be left leaning right up against the exhaust pipe...That looks like a disaster just looking for a place to happen probably about a mile down the road...lol...DAMIEN

I actually had a bad coil that came with a new engine kit. I was able to swap the coil with a known good one, and that solved the problem. I had no way of discerning that the coil was bad, just a trial and error approach. Ohms measurement across the coil should be the same across the red lead and the case, verifying the coil body is well grounded.
