Carb issues, Zeda 100

Right. My first day on the forum I was convinced to buy a phantom. Placed an order with motoredlife.com not realizing they didn't even have them in stock. It said nothing about being a pre-order or the fact that I will have to wait almost 10 weeks to even get it. Didn't want to wait so I ended up just getting the Zeta in addition.

Motoredlife.com now lists the Phantom as "out of stock" it also has a message saying they are no longer accepting pre-orders. Haha as if they even told us they were pre orders to begin with! This change was because I called bicycle-engines and complained about motoredlifes practices.
So did you get a refund or are you just waiting on your "pre order"? And have you contacted bicycle engines about a warranty?

Bicycle engines emailed me after I was asking a lot of troubleshooting questions about getting it running right. They said it was not any type of engine defect or manufacturing defect and basically resent the generic manual about break in and a guide on how to tune the oko carb. They also said my plug was within spec of a good running engine or something.

It has been 28 days since I bought the Phantom and still have yet to receive an email back from Alex at motoredlife. I remember someone else here saying they were in the same boat. Guess I'm just waiting on the pre-order!

Hmm. That's a huge bummer. I wish I could be more of a help, but I have no experience with the setup you have or really anything close to it

I appreciate it. It is what it is! I've enjoyed my time tinkering with it for the most part.
This also gives me the excuse to start working on my 66 comet and get it ready for sale!
After i finish the Saab of course 😎

The comet is one of my favorites. However I like the early 60s ones.

Mines basically a cobbled together Cyclone. Has the Cyclone hood and badging on the inside. Has an oldschool cage and bucket seats. It's also a 2 door hardtop. Very hard to find in good shape. It still has the original 289 in her though

I was looking at a '64 roller at one point for about 1500, but the quarters were so badly rusted I didn't want to fight with it.

I basically restored everything mechanically on mine over last winter. It's road worthy. Runs and drives really well. Brakes, lines , fp, wp, ignition, carb, power steering ram, basically everything mechanical was replaced. I've never owned a car that starts within 0.5 seconds of turning the key until this one! Sounds awesome too. Only asking 4200 for it. Only because it needs a paint job!

That's a great price! If I could afford it I'd be making a road trip lol. The old man made me get rid if my classics when we moved. I think when I can afford it I'm going to find a VW beetle and build a 1600cc dual port for it. Hopefully I can find a sun bug with the sun roof. That would be sick

If you want something like the phantom for somewhat cheap do a saw hybrid. I recommend them all the time for people who want a phantom without the phantom prices and extreme rigidity. It takes some effort to put together but if you’re willing to go through the effort, it’s totally worth it in the end. In fact I believe you can skip one of the hardest steps with these builds by using an ms380 52mm cylinder.

But it does have its draw backs. For example most saw hybrids have a hard time with stroke match. For example an ms460, the one I have, doesn’t like 40mm cranks but it does like 38mm. I have a 40mm in mine but it required some extra modification to the cylinder to get it to run right. I don’t believe the ms380 had the 40mm crank issue. Also there’s the issue with the wrist pin size being too big for most newer MB engines so if you got lucky and got a 12mm rod then it would make things a lot easier.
